We’ve had a lot going on here at the Zoo and I feel like I need to get some stuff off my chest.
Most of you know that we’ve had some serious problems with our neighbors. Well the past month things have gotten worse, so much worse. Because of this we’ve been trying to move, emphasis on the word trying. Things are not going so well, and this past week we’ve heard something along the lines of ‘well if you just got rid of the dogs you wouldn’t have to move’ and this isn’t the first time we’ve heard something similar.
I’m going to tell you why that isn’t even an option.
This is my family
This is Daine, she is my first baby…. She is my heart and soul in fur walking around outside my body
She is Peace
She is love Everlasting
This is Beka
She is healing, she is strength, she is everything I am not
She is bravery
She is change
This is Teddy
He is patience
He is understanding
He is sweetness
He is adoration
This is Kaiser
He is strength without measure
He is sunshine and happiness
He is hope
He is a new birth from the ashes
This is my niece and nephew
They are friendship, love, and joy
They are a blessing to me
This is Freddie he is our foster, he will always hold a peace of my heart
He is intelligence
He is understanding
He is joy
He is satisfaction
This is Annie, even if she is a foster she is ours, she has a piece of our heart and we love her dearly
She is hope
She is energy
These are my children, they are my life, I could not live without them and though I know a day will come when they will leave me it will not be my choice, they will wait for me at rainbow bridge and I will see them again.
Without them I would not be who I am today, I would not have the friends I have, my family.
I will not leave them.
I will not abandon them.
I. WILL. NOT. GIVE. UP.
They are not property
They are not mindless animals
They are living, breathing, beings with feelings and hearts so full of love.
To even suggest otherwise you dont know me at all, and that makes me sad, but I’m letting it go. I’m moving on.
One of my favorite Disney quotes suits this so well
Ohana means family, and family means NOBODY gets left behind or forgotten.
That is all.
